Minneapolis Bridal Boutique: A + Bé Bridal

Let’s face it, we all are obsessed with weddings. The romance, the decor, that full on commitment of love. All in all what is our favorite part? Saying “YES” to the dress.

Let’s pretend that you are getting married in Minneapolis! YAY! What’s the first thing you do? (Technically you should set a budget first but just roll with me here…)

Set a date.

What’s the second thing you do? (Technically you should hire a planner, but again for imaginary purposes…)

Start looking for a dress.

Ahhh finding your wedding dress….

This is the moment that all girls (and guys) dream about. That moment when you step your foot into all that fabric and turn to look at yourself in the mirror. Then it hits you… the “you’re getting married” idea becomes so surreal and if you found your perfect dress well then, cue the tears.

Maybe this is not you per say, but majority of brides set a date and then begin to look for their dress. If you haven’t found your wedding dress yet, you’re in luck! I had the privilege of stepping into one of the top bridal shops in Minneapolis, A & Bé Bridal and had a little sit down with the owner, Kristin Brown.

Location, Location, Location

If you have not yet stopped into their bridal shop location on Hennepin Avenue, you are truly missing out. A + Bé Bridal is an unique, no-pressure bridal boutique that excels in customer service and supports small dress designers around the world. All of their gowns are handmade and hand selected in New York City so the chances of seeing someone else in your dress is highly unlikely.

The Experience

From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted with kindness. Even though they accept walk-ins, to get the full-on spoiled experience, booking a 90 minute appointment is preferred. Bring along a maximum of five from your tribe as you relax in your own little nook and browse their unique selections. This allows for the bride to have a truly sentimental experience and to limit the amount of voices and opinions thrown your way because at the end of the day, the only opinion that matters is yours.

You are paired with a stylist that is experienced not only with the dress, designers and customization options but know what wedding dresses would look perfect on your body type. So much so, that they do two sets of measurements to ensure the fit is just right.

Need a wedding dress in a pinch?

They have personal relationships with each designer and can offer style ideas or possible rush delivery on your perfect dress.

When should you begin wedding dress shopping?

To have a truly stress-free bridal gown experience, they recommend you start searching for that perfect dress 9 to 10 months before your big day. It takes about 4 to 6 months to get the dress in. Add on another 2 to 3 months for dress alterations.

What kind of dresses do they carry?

A + Bé bridal Minneapolis boutique carries a collection of cool styles. From Indie, boho to modern, they have many unique and one-of kind styles for brides. If you haven’t checked out their website or Instagram, I recommend you do this before making an appointment. No need to add a trip to the dress shop to your list if it doesn’t match the style you are looking for. Their dresses range from $1,200 to $6,500. If you are looking to catch a deal, visit one of their Minneapolis wedding trunk shows.

What should you bring to your appointment?

Besides your tribe, here are a few things they recommend that you bring with you to your appointment.

  • Bride Tribe (max 5)

  • Nude underwear.

  • Nude booby stickies or a nude bra if you feel you need one. Most of the time you don’t wear a bra with a wedding dress anyways.

  • If you plan on wearing spanks to bring those as well to see how the dress will sit while you are wearing them.

  • No shoes are necessary because they have wooden pedestals.
